The Results of Treatment

In Western terms, the treatments can reduce fine lines and wrinkles, and improve muscle tone, collagen production, skin elasticity, tighten pores, and eliminate puffiness. Moisture in the skin and evenness of skin color will be balanced by increasing local circulation of blood and lymph to the face and removal of waste from the skin.  In terms of Chinese Medicine, the treatment stimulates the flow of energy and blood to the face, as well as rebalancing the person’s overall health.

Improvements can be evident after the first treatment, although significant improvements are usually clearer after the patient has received a number of treatments.

Studies published in the International Journal of Clinical Acupuncture in 1996 showed that of 300 people who received Facial Acupuncture, 90% demonstrated marked results after only their first treatment. The subjects reported an improvement in the elasticity of facial muscles, smoothing of wrinkles, brighter complexion and overall rejuvenation. They also experienced an overall rejuvenation not confined to the face.

What is Involved?

An initial Cosmetic Acupuncture session will begin with a facial reading. Much like the iris reflects a map of the body, particular areas on the face correspond to areas in the body.

The treatment will begin by needling constitutional points on your body, these are the points that will help to balance and harmonise your inner elements.

Points on the face are then needled in order to improve elasticity of your skin and general overall appearance.

Once the needles are removed, a Chinese Therapeutic facial massage is completed with a specialised blend of nutritive oils and cooling jade dermal rollers. The massage invigorates the blood and lymphatic circulation and enhances the effects of the acupuncture.
