Dianne Harrison is a Clinical Psychologist who has worked in private practice on the Sunshine Coast since 2011. She is passionate about psychology and strongly believes in the capacity of individuals to develop throughout the life span; to create positive change and to enhance joy, meaning and interpersonal relationships.
Dianne is highly approachable, non-judgemental and genuine in wanting to assist others to improve their mental health and wellbeing. Her therapy is guided by the values of compassion, kindness, professionalism and a belief in the dignity of each individual.
She is experienced in helping men and women in the following areas – anxiety, depression, grief and loss, workplace challenges, mental health in the peri-natal and post-natal period, recovery from abusive relationships, positive parenting, couples therapy, older people’s mental health and post-traumatic stress. She is particularly interested in life transitions, personal growth and improving interpersonal communication.
Dianne uses a strengths based focus and her work is guided by the following evidence based approaches: Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness, Motivational Therapy, and Interpersonal Therapy.
Dianne holds a Master’s Degree in Applied Social Research and a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology. She completed her psychology thesis on the use of mindfulness in the treatment of mental health issues.
